Following anonymous assessments of Prime's main course beef and lamb dishes the restaurant was awarded with a 2012 Beef and Lamb Excellence Award for the 200g Hereford Eye Fillet and Southland Lamb Rack dishes.

"A very enjoyable meal ... lean and relatively tender. The accompanying jus was well seasoned and tasty, the fries were nicely crunchy and the salad was fresh and flavourful".

"This was a colourful, flavoursome and well executed dish featuring perfectly cooked lamb, well rested, tender and served at a good temperature. The lamb crust was highly seasoned but very tasty and the accompanying tomatoes were sweet and juicy, nicely complemented by a smooth and delicious mash. Presentation was well balanced and appetising, rounding off an otherwise very successful and enjoyable dining experience, well done'. |
